Are geomembranes waterproof?

Geomembranes are manufactured through a blend of polymers to be completely impermeable and waterproof. Geomembranes at large saw an explosion in research and installation once it was determined they could be used in the process of containing toxic runoff and leachate found in sanitary landfills. This containment process required complete impermeability.

Today, geomembranes continue to be used in applications that require a completely impermeable containment or separation liner.
