You can absolutely convert a chlorine pool to a natural pool; there are several ways to accomplish this. However, the process may be complex. A natural swimming pool will require more space in order to include a regeneration zone to keep the water clean. You'll need to redirect the flow of your water through traditional filters to instead travel through the regeneration zone.
You may find it easier to remove the pool and use the pre-excavated space to install your new pond.
