Can you grow enough food to feed yourself?

Absolutely, a healthy, well-maintained garden can feed a whole family, let alone an individual. It's reccomended that each individual you intend to feed gets between 5-20 plants per yeard, depending on whether you intend to supplement or fully supply their diet. This changes depending on what you're growing, how large their yields are, and how often you intend to use them. For example, a pumpkin plant can produce enough for one person all on its own, while potatoes are likely to be used more often, and should be somewhere in the range of 10-30 plants.

Vegetables can be cooked immediately for dinner, frozen for later use, or transformed in order to be stored easier. Canned and dried goods are an excellent way to make your harvest last much longer, and provides even, balanced nutrition year-round.
