Nope! Natural swimming ponds filter out waste and harmful chemicals through a small ecosystem referred to as a regeneration zone. This zone is full of plants, bacteria, and aquatic life that naturally absorb and utilize the chemicals and waste that make their way into the swimming zone. Water is constantly circulated through the swimming zone and the regeneration zone so that all water has a chance to be disinfected and filtered. This eliminates the need for chlorine or other chemical balancing like that in a chemical pool.
Chemicals may only be required if there turns out to be a mineral or bacterial imbalance within your regeneration zone.
