Does a geothermal greenhouse need electricity?

Geothermal energy is readily available virtually everywhere on the planet. It's a "direct use" energy, in that heat from below the surface can be transferred to heat homes, businesses, pools and spas without the need to convert it to electricity. Geothnermal energy can often be passively utilized, meaning that natural physics or forces transfer energy, rather than requiring an external force. This passive energy is typically found in thermal batteries, or heat sinks, which store and release heat with the warming and cooling of the day and night cycle.

Even during the winter, soil about 8' underground in most parts of the world remain a steady 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
