Groundwater lagoons are utilized to safely store water and prevent seepage or contamination over a long period of time. They are lined with an impermeable liner that prevents water from seeping into the ground. Additionally, a cover may be used to prevent evaporation or precipitation from entering.
If a lagoon is too large or uncontrolled for your purposes, a cistern or tank may serve you better.
