Choosing the right landscape fabric depends on matching the fabric's type—woven, non-woven, or perforated—to your project's goals. For flower beds or shrubberies where weed control is the main goal, a spun-bonded non-woven or perforated fabric is ideal as it allows excellent air and water permeability.
For heavy-duty applications like under a gravel driveway or patio, choose a much thicker, professional-grade needle-punched non-woven geotextile designed for stabilization and separation. Reinforced woven fabrics are another option. They're extremely strong, making them a good choice for stabilization , but they are often less permeable than non-woven types.
