If your landscape fabric becomes torn or damaged, it can be repaired fairly easily without replacing the entire section. Start by clearing away any mulch, soil, or debris around the tear so you can see the full area.
Then, cut a piece of new fabric slightly larger than the damaged spot and place it over the tear, making sure it overlaps the surrounding fabric by several inches. Secure the patch with closely spaced landscape pins or staples to hold it flat against the ground and prevent weeds from finding their way through the gap. Once the repair is complete, cover it again with mulch or gravel.
