Maintaining landscape fabric over time involves keeping it clean, properly covered, and free from excessive debris. Check the fabric once or twice a year to ensure it remains in good condition and continues blocking weeds effectively.
If you notice areas where soil, mulch, or leaves have built up, lightly rake or remove the debris to prevent weeds from rooting above the fabric. Replace or replenish mulch as needed to help protect the fabric from sunlight, which can cause it to deteriorate faster. In spots where the fabric becomes torn or exposed, patch or replace small sections to restore its effectiveness.
