Creating an organized, cool and dark place to store your goods is ideal, especially if its in a weather-safe part of your house. A cool cellar is the most efficient way to store your fresh veggies and fruits as well as your dried goods. Having another small freezer would also be a great way to keep your frozen meats, dairy and produce in good shape to last a while.
Stocking up on food does not need to happen all at once. Making a list and assessing the situation you are stocking up food for is recommended to ensure your supply is adequate. However, it is always a good idea to have about a gallon of water per person in your household for emergency situations.
