How do you install a waterfall preformed pond?

Waterfall preformed ponds are the quickest way to get a splashing water feature in your backyard. Preformed ponds take more work during excavation than those lined with flexible materials because the soil must be perfectly graded and shaped to support the rigid liner. However, it is faster to install a preformed liner when you’re trying to add a waterfall without any extra work. Make sure you have extra dirt, concrete blocks, rocks, or other materials to support the raised side sections that form the waterfall feature since the rigid liner has a fixed position.

For an easier installation, ordering a preformed plastic waterfall feature that isn’t attached to the edge of a pond form. This allows you to create a custom lined pond of any size and shape with the waterfall in any position or placement. It’s also easier to build a wood or concrete support for the preformed waterfall structure when it’s not attached to an existing pond form. Either way, you’ll need lots of extra rocks or other materials to disguise the supports and edges of the waterfall feature. You may find it’s easier simply to build one from a combination of liner, black expanding foam, and the rocks you have to purchase or collect anyway.
