Natural swimming ponds require much less maintenence than traditional chlorine pools, as much of the water treatment is done in the background by the natural ecosystem within. Chemically disinfecting your pool requires careful management of the water quality and frequent testing. Mechanical filters may break or need repair on a yearly basis. Natural pools, on the other hand, are able to function pretty much on their own. The regeneration zone filters out negative chemicals and naturally aerates the pool to prevent algae growth.
A skimmer or vacuum can be used to remove any debris or waste that makes its way in to the pool area.
