How do you weld a geomembrane?

Geomembrane sheets are connected and their seams are sealed through a heat-welding process, which permanently seals the material. While other forms of geomembranes can be sealed through adhesive tape, thicker materials require heat-welding to ensure a permanent seal. This process involves melting the actual membrane to connect multiple sheets. This form of sealage is incredibly durable, and prevents the risk of damage, tears, or punctures associated with other kinds of connection.

This is a specialized process, and needs to be completed by a professional. Since most of the materials that require heat-welding are so heavy, they cannot be shipped in final-form. Rather, they are transported in separate sheets, and then cut and welded at the time of installation.
