How does hay cover affect the weight of bales?

The use of hay cover generally does not significantly affect the weight of bales directly. However, if the cover is not properly fitted or if it allows moisture to seep through, it can allow the hay to absorb moisture, which does add weight.

A well-secured and effective cover should keep the hay dry, minimizing weight and perserving its quality as feed.
