How is aeroponics better than good old soil farming?

If you look at the facts, growing in soil is no longer a sustainable way to grow food for the 7 billion people on the planet. There is not enough fertile, arable land around the world that is not being threatened by growing urban populations and related development. In other places, extreme droughts and naturally arid environments make food production unreliable or completely unsustainable.

Modern irrigation techniques still widely used around the world use water inefficiently in a time when fresh water is increasing scarce. When runoff from those fields, laden with chemicals and excess nutrients, enters our rivers and oceans, it creates hazardous algae blooms and creates dead spots in the oceans. In the search for more and more land for farming, millions of acres of forests and jungles are cleared, damaging important ecosystems and reducing our planet's biodiversity and ultimately impairing the ability of our planet to reach a balance. Aeroponics can produce the same amount of vegetables using only 10% of the space, and the quality of the soil doesn't matter. It's 95% more efficient in water use than soil farming and produces no damaging runoff. It's not vulnerable to pests or damaging weather and crops can be grown year-round.
