What do I do with my pond fish during the winter?

Some kinds of fish are able to survive cold winters by entering a period of dormancy. This lowers their metabolism and allows them to survive without ready access to food. The kind of fish you have and the climate you live in will determine what the best course of action for your fish will be.

For fish that require warmer temperatures, or who aren't mature enough to survive off stored fat in the winter, your best option may be to move them inside.
