A food shortage is a wide-sweeping in food supply, it's distribution methods, and its general accessibility. This could mean that grocery stores will have less product to put on the shelves, less workers to produce food and overall lack of access of food products. Food shortages lead to desperation in the community; hunger being the driving factor to widespread panic.
Food shortages are nothing new. We have observed many countries in the past and present suffer from food shortages due to pandemics, labor shortages and climate change. With less food on the shelves, the people become hungry and with hunger comes desperation.
