Different kinds of canal liners will need different types of equipment during installation. For flexible liners like geomembranes, equipment such as bulldozers and graders is used to prepare the canal bed and ensure a smooth, stable surface. Rollers and machines may be needed to unroll and position the liner, while heat welders or extrusion welders are used to seal the seams and edges.
For concrete liners, mixers, pumps, and spreaders are required to mix and pour the concrete, while reinforcing steel may need to be placed with the help of cranes or other lifting equipment. For both types of installation, excavation machinery like backhoes or excavators may be used to clear the canal of debris and vegetation. Heavy-duty machinery like cranes or forklifts may be used for lifting and positioning large or heavy liner materials.
