Geomembrane sheets are created using a synthetic blend of highly durable polymers, spread thin and layered in order to maximize their strength. These are impermeable liners that are used in a wide array of industries in order to control, store, or transport liquids, gasses, or solids. These can range from thin PVC sheets, all the way to industrial grade reinforced polyethylene.
These sheets were first and most widely utilized to control the drainage and collection of leachate and run-off from toxic waste treatment. Since then, their highly durable and effective form of substance control has spread in its application. Today, geomembrane sheets are used as pond liners, covers for solid-waste landfills, linings for emergency spillways, and containment for potable or food-grade purposes.
