What is the difference between aeroponics and aero-hydroponics?

Aeroponics is a system where plants are grown without soil or any type of growth medium. The plants are suspended with roots exposed directly to the air at all times, while moisture and nutrients are supplied by misting the roots. In aero-hydroponics, the plants are still suspended without any medium for the roots to grab onto, but while about half the length of the roots receive aeroponic misting, the bottom parts are submerged in water.

The advantage of aero-hydroponics is that the plants receive all the nutrients necessary, and are constantly provided with highly oxygenated water, which promotes vitality and rapid growth. In fact, this aero-hydroponic method has proven to be particularly effective in rooting cuttings.
