What type of polymer is HDPE?

HDPE stands for High Density Polyethylene, a highly durable polymer that is, like BPA, made from petroleum. However, unlike BPA, HDPE is safe for fish and human contact. It does not leach out the harmful chemicals found in BPA that make it unsuitable for aquatic life.
