Will there be a food shortage in 2022?

Covid-19 and the effects of climate change mean that many food items are becoming more expensive or harder to get. Unfortunately the pandemic is not over and we are already experiencing another wave in 2022 that would directly affect the production of goods. Rising food prices are triggering less spending ability and less production.

Along with the pandemic we are also facing the war on Ukraine. With war comes shortages of many things, but food is the most prevalent. Ukraine is a big supplier of wheat, which means anything from ceral to pasta can be affected. Ukraine's crisis is and will affect America, along with climate change. Rising temperatures and harsher conditions are putting a strain on farmers and their crops.
