What Does the Future Hold For Hydraulic Fracking and Oil Containment?

Oil and natural gas in the United States is on the verge of transforming the world’s energy markets for a second time, further undercutting both Saudi Arabia and Russia.

The widespread use of hydraulic fracking in our country has opened access to billions of barrels of oil and trillions of cubic feet of natural gas. This has completely transformed our global energy sector in just a matter of years. Today, one leading global energy agency suggests that our country’s natural gas is ready to do it again.

The International Energy Agency, also known as the IEA, has shared in a recent study that growth in our nation’s oil production will cover 80% of the world’s new demand for oil in the next three years alone. In fact, oil production in the United States is expected to increase approximately 30% to 17 million barrels per day by 2023, thanks to oil production and fracking in Texas.

As a result, we are going to see a major second wave of shale production in our nation, which will bolster our economy significantly in coming years.

The Energy Renaissance

There has not been a more exciting time in the American energy sector in the past century. Dubbed by many as the “American energy renaissance,” it looks like the next few years will put the United States at the head of the pack for oil and natural gas resources.

There’s no denying that our nation, and our world, are evolving rapidly. The global population is expected to rise almost 30% by 2050. As our population grows, so do our solutions. If we are going to meet society’s growing demand for clean energy, we must work with the oil and gas industry to navigate the energy changes that are on its way—especially fracking.
